Los Angeles area Progressive Seeking Field Director
A progressive, grassroots climate activist has launched a campaign for Glendale City Council. The campaign is considered by the LA Times to be a serious contender.
We are seeking a full-time Field Director to join our core team. This position reports directly to the Campaign Manager, and will be responsible for making key strategic and tactical decisions, and will oversee all field operations, both paid and volunteer.
Must be fluent in PDI: cutting turf, assigning turf, training volunteers, precinct analysis, etc. This is a data-driven campaign, so we need to be able to measure what we're doing and learn from the data if we need to make changes.
Must have messaging skills & the ability to condense a detailed, policy-based platform into a coherent, effective walk script.
Must be prepared to switch gears quickly. This is going to be a small team, and week-to-week responsibilities will change as the campaign evolves.
Must cultivate a positive, healthy working environment. This role is part of the senior management of the campaign, and we will only work with candidates who treat all staff and volunteers with respect.
Familiarity with Armenian, Spanish, or other languages spoken in Glendale not required, but a definite plus!
As a local race in a mid-size city, this is a good opportunity for an ambitious former field deputy to step up to managing a field campaign. Salary DOE.
The race is over on March 3, 2020. There is no general election. Winners are seated after the primary.
