Position Overview:


The Regional Organizing Director is responsible for managing Regional Field Offices, along with their Field Organizers. The Iowa Regional Organizing Director reports to the Iowa Organizing Director. The ideal candidate is dynamic and organized, with the ability to work effectively both with the team and autonomously on various projects.

This person will:

  • Recruit, hire, and manage local Field Organizers for the Regional Field Office. 
  • Accountable for the metrics set forth in the statewide field program for your region. You'll also work with the State Organizing Director to continually improve the field program for your region, bringing your knowledge on the ground to the state team. 
  • Assist the State Political Director in building relationships with local community leaders and identifying key grasstop stakeholders. 
  • The TS campaign is dedicated to a "ground up" campaign where priorities are decided by the needs on the ground, rather than dictated "top down" by headquarters - the Regional Organizing Director plays a critical role in relaying information and needs from the field to their State Directors, we need strong leaders who can clearly communicate and manage.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • At least one cycle as a field organizer for a political campaign or advocacy campaign.
  • Strong working knowledge of NGP VAN, Slack, Google Drive applications.
  • Tact and professionalism in handling assignments involving work of a confidential nature.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, analytical problem solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to communicate with others effectively.
  • Ability to re-prioritize and proven ability to succeed in a fast-moving environment. 
  • Knowledge and personal connections in the region.
  • Experience working with groups within the Progressive community.
