VETERANS & MILITARY FAMILIES COORDINATOR


Amy McGrath for Senate is seeking a Veterans and Military Families Coordinator for the 2020 campaign cycle. As part of the campaign's political team, this person will manage relationships and outreach to veteran and military organizations and families throughout Kentucky.

 

Location: Lexington, KY

Reports to: Political Director 


Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Build and maintain relationships with key military, veteran, and military family organizations and leaders throughout Kentucky, and nationally as needed. 

  • Develop a plan to ensure regional community calendars are updated regularly with veterans and military family related events.

  • Work with Regional Directors to ensure the campaign is represented at local veteran and military family community events. 

  • Provide details of potential events for candidate to attend to scheduling department. Should be prepared to attend events as a surrogate for the candidate as needed.

  • Coordinate with scheduling and other relevant departments to plan candidate travel. Including crowd building, outreach to local contacts, logistical planning and providing informational memos for veteran and military family events.

  • Traveling to and staffing events across the state as needed. 

  • Identifying people in local communities for specific events and projects as needed. 


Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of Kentucky's political landscape

  • Existing relationships with veteran/military leaders and community members in various parts of the state

  • Comfortable communicating and building relationships with veteran and military organizations, leaders and families 

  • Experience managing and planning political/community events

  • Flexible to travel to events as needed

  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail
