With Democrats holding large majorities in both houses of the legislature for the first time in decades, Senator Kavanagh and his colleagues are advancing sweeping progressive change through legislation, policy advocacy, and effective representation of our diverse communities.

Senator Kavanagh chairs the Senate Housing Committee and looks to advance an ambitious housing and homelessness agenda in 2020, building on the nation-leading tenant protection laws already enacted in 2019. Additional priorities include gun violence prevention, environmental protection and climate change, election and campaign finance reform, economic and social justice, and consumer rights--as well the many community issues we tackle on behalf of residents of Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.
