Espy for Senate- Finance Director Job Posting
The Espy for Senate campaign is looking for a statewide finance director for the 2020 campaign. Mike is the DSCC endorsed candidate, and the finance director will lead the campaigns fundraising efforts for the 2020 cycle both in state and nationally. This will include developing a fundraising plan in conjunction with the campaign manager, managing a finance team, and managing a fundraising consultant team.
In a 2018 special election, Mike Espy raised over $7million in less than eight months in the most competitive state wide race Mississippi had seen in over two decades. The campaign is looking for a strong fundraiser who is willing to take on the challenge of helping turn Mississippi blue.
Responsibilities
· Hiring and managing fundraising team which will include paid staff and consultants
· Developing a finance plan that meets the overall needs of the campaign
· Executing the finance plan and meeting key fundraising benchmarks
· Organizing and staffing fundraising events
· Building and managing relationships with donors and key stake holders
· Developing a candidate call time program
· Working with national fundraising consultant on individual and PAC fundraising
· Position reports to the campaign manager
Qualifications
· At least two cycles of experience working in fundraising on a candidate campaign or political advocacy campaign
· Excellent personal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
· Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including attention to detail.
· Ability to travel and work weekends and nights as needed
· Position is based in Jackson, MS
· Past experience managing candidate call time, fundraising staff, and national fundraising a plus
· Experience with NGP and Gsuite applications
