About the DCCC:
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U.S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC's Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. Position Summary:
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is hiring a Creative Director for the Committee's Independent Expenditure Unit (IE). The Creative Director will be responsible for overseeing the digital creative strategy and in-house production needs as well as any rapid response production needs. This person will have strong creative/content development experience and will work closely with the Digital Director to ensure all programs are planned with creative in mind. We are looking for candidates with exceptional craftsmanship, intellectual curiosity and someone with a focus on creating innovative work. This role will manage a Video Editor and Digital Content Producer roles and will report to the Digital Director.
Responsibilities Include:
• Directly managing and mentoring a team of designers, motion graphics animators, and illustrators.
• Help develop new models for providing creative ideas that keep pace with the demands of the races.
• Oversee execution of your team's creative concepts and programs, ensuring the highest quality creative output delivered within deadline and on budget.
• Establishing and implementing a cohesive and unique visual strategy across a multitude of content types including mobile/social video, vertical formats (e.g. snapchat), and emerging platforms.
• Collaborate with other teams and guide creatives through the pre/post production process.
• Find alternative production solutions when existing assets are not an option.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 4+ years of design experience of top-notch design/art direction, content development, writing, strategy, production, and/or copywriting experience.
• Proven leader and mentor of high performing design team/studio.
• A strong understanding of brand strategy and can understand the look, feel & tone of a brand quickly.
• High Level Proficiency in all creative software packages such as Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro and/or After Effects)
• Insane attention to detail and concern for accuracy.
• Your brain is always on design mode.
• Your portfolio shows a diverse selection of work across platforms/formats and a deep understanding of social platforms.
• Must be able to operate effectively in a fast paced, dynamic, ever evolving space.
• A sense of humor, flexibility and a great attitude.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
• At least 6 years of experience as a Creative Director
• Proficiency in another language(s).
• Previous experience in political campaigns or political organization groups, such as PACs/c4s or nonprofit.
