Position Title: Campaign or Finance Fellow
Employment Status: Part Time / Stipend
Supervisor: Deputy Director or Finance Director
The Ohio House Democratic Caucus seeks thoughtful, driven, results-oriented campaign and finance fellows to join a team of passionate people working to break the Republican supermajority in the Ohio House in the 2020 election cycle. These individuals will have the opportunity to learn from expert staff, engage with elected leaders, candidates, and community activists to help to test, train, and develop a new class of Ohio campaign operatives and help to expand our campaign efforts across the state.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Finance Director or the Deputy Director, Fellows can have some of the following duties:
Work alongside the Deputy Director or Finance Director to support the OHDC operation, fundraising, campaigns, and support of elected leaders and candidates;
Receive first hand experience with the ins and outs of how statehouse campaigns and political parties are run and how they function;
And assist with department-specific work related to increasing the capacity of teams though challenging and fulfilling project-related tasks.
Qualifications
We are seeking fellows who excel in problem solving and attention to detail and have the following qualifications:
Hardworking, motivated, passionate future leaders interested in gaining experience and involvement in Democratic politics;
Work as part of a team and willing to help on all types of projects and tasks;
Students majoring in policy, politics, government, or other relevant coursework, in addition to those majoring in all other courses of study; however, non-students are encouraged to apply;
Those who have immediate availability and the capacity to serve as a fellow for at least 10-20 hours per week;
Those who can be available for evening or weekend work, and those who can be able during normal business hours;
Adhere to the highest ethical standards. Convey a professional and positive image and attitude regarding the organization and our elected members and candidates. Demonstrate commitment to continued professional growth and development;
And a belief that our mission matters and that electing Democrats to the Ohio House is critical in moving Ohio forward.
Compensation
There will be a monthly stipend between $600-1,200 depending on the scope of the fellowship and anticipated hours worked.

In 2018, the caucus picked up six seats, marking the first time since 2008 that seats flipped from red to blue.
