[jobsthatareLEFT by GAIN] Analytics Fellow - Priorities USA

Want to use your strong attention-to-detail skills to defeat Donald Trump? Eager to support a team using innovative methods to make a difference? Join Priorities USA as an Analytics Fellow.

Priorities USA is committed to standing up to Donald Trump in order to build an economy that provides real opportunity for all families to get ahead, and to protect the fundamental, democratic ideal of equality for all Americans – regardless of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. To achieve those goals and win in 2020, Priorities relies on data at every step of the decision-making process.

We're looking for an Analytics Fellow to create data visualizations and powerpoints to illustrate the findings of our analyses and assist with ad hoc qualitative research projects for the Analytics Team. You will work primarily with the Special Projects Manager and Analytics Coordinator, but have many opportunities to work with the entire Analytics Team.

Responsibilities

    • Create Analytics products, including memos, spreadsheets, data visualizations, plots, and powerpoints for leadership and external partners.
    • Assist on qualitative research as needed (e.g. categorizing ads that Donald Trump runs by creative content and copy, and tracking which organizations are spending on the Presidential race).
    • Support long-term Analytics projects (e.g. data cleaning and collection).
    • Use code to handle external requests (e.g., answering the question, "how many millennial voters live in Miami?").

Qualifications

    • A demonstrably high level of commitment to quality of work from start to finish on a project.
    • A proven ability to manage competing deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail.
    • Comfort working in Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs.
    • Experience with or an interest in learning R and SQL.
    • An interest in progressive politics! And an understanding of, or desire to learn, the nuances of Democratic politics.
    • You are excited about data science, programming and statistics.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience on political campaigns, advocacy work, public service or a demonstrated commitment to progressive causes.
    • Past work experience in an administrative role.
    • Past qualitative research experience.
    • Familiarity with SQL and/or R.
    • Experience communicating with diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and bringing a sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences.
This is a paid position with full benefits. Fellows will be paid at an annual rate of $50,000.

Please apply by April 1st, 2020 and include a cover letter with your application to tell us more about why you're excited about digital ads and why you want to learn more about what we do.

People of color, women, people with disabilities, veterans, and people without a higher education degree are strongly encouraged to apply. If you need accommodation for disability to apply for this position, please let us know by emailing info@priorities.org.
