DIGITAL DIRECTOR
A competitive southeastern senate race is seeking a digital director for the 2020 campaign cycle.
Responsibilities and duties:
Oversee digital fundraising program, including email, direct-to-donate ads, and other revenue sources, in concert with outside firm.
Devise and execute digital messaging strategy to authentically convey candidate's voice and message in coordination with communications and other departments.
Manage vendors, consultants, and department staff toward messaging, fundraising, mobilization, and other goals.
Evaluate performance of different content and messaging across platforms to make recommendations on what the campaign should be doing next.
Work with creative department to develop audio, video, and other content for campaign channels.
Find new ways to use email, social media, broadcast SMS, and other digital tools to win election.
Monitor social media for relevant news and organic opportunities for engagement.
Preferred experience and skills:
At least 2 years or 1 cycle managing a campaign or similarly-sized organization's digital operation.
Experience running a campaign or similarly-sized organization's email, paid, and social media programs.
Knowledge of tactics and platforms, including ActionKit, Tatango, and ActBlue.
Understanding of HTML and CSS.
Ability to write compelling copy on tight deadlines.
Attention to detail and consistency.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects working with partners across departments.
Understanding that campaign jobs are never 9-to-5.
