The Climate Reality Project, former Vice President Al Gore's climate nonprofit, is looking for a Digital Campaign Manager. This position plays a central role in this work, coordinating and overseeing the execution of Climate Reality's digital outreach for advocacy campaigns to helping build a more diverse and powerful movement for climate solutions. 

In this role, the Digital Campaign Manager crafts and executes campaign online organizing strategy for projects, that includes developing an active, online network of supporters engaged in our national and Chapter campaigns. They are equally a big-picture storyteller, practical problem-solver, and project manager, as well as involved in the day-to-day work to make our campaigns successful and ensures the team achieves all its short and long-term objectives and key results.

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • -Leading internal and external resources to develop digital advocacy actions, like petitions, call-in-days, twitter storms, etc. to support Climate Reality's Chapter and organizational work.
  • - Organizing, developing, and coordinating online email outreach, web-based advocacy, and online-to-offline integration of members and supporters who are interested in Climate Reality campaigns.
  • - Ensuring that non-campaign website content, social media, digital marketing, and email marketing are aligned and performing to hit key results.
  • - Reporting on team's key performance indicators to senior leadership. Ensuring web traffic, engagement with content, and campaign actions are growing year-over-year.
  • - Recommending and implementing rapid response plans for achieving campaign victories.
  • - Managing a large and evolving editorial calendar with both a short and long-term focus. A natural project manager, this person will make sure the team's work is organized and will follow up with stakeholders to make sure deadlines are met.
  • - Assisting in writing well-researched and engaging blogs, landing pages, advocacy campaign content, and other content created to inspire our audience to act on climate change.
  • - Updating and coordinate staff and third-party vendors on the communication team's work and priorities.
  • - Daily management of organization websites via our Drupal CMS, including selecting imagery and copy for hero images, lightboxes, initiative pages, and other content elements. Working with front-end developers to implement these changes, as well as to test and QA pages, forms, etc.
  • - Staying up to date on digital and social trends, integrating new methods and features into our strategy.
  • - Managing other department staff.
  • - Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • - Minimum of five years' experience, specifically in advocacy or nonprofit communications/digital engagement.
  • - Prior experience managing staff
  • - Fluency in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
  • - Experience and knowledge of inbound marketing and SEO best practices.
  • - Fluency with HTML/CSS.
  • - Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • - Experience using Salesforce or other CRM tool(s).
  • - Experience using content management systems (Drupal preferred).
  • - Familiarity with Facebook Ads, Google Display Network, Google Grants, and other ad platforms.
  • - Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop.
  • - Experience with Marketo or other email marketing systems.
  • - A basic understanding of digital fundraising best practices.
  • - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, learn quickly, and accept constructive feedback.
