ElevatED LA is seeking talented and dedicated Canvassers and Canvass Leads to support our campaign to create safe and equitable learning and teaching environments in all of LA's public schools. Canvassers will educate, inform and seek support from individuals and groups for our campaign.
-- The Canvass Lead works directly with the Project Manager (PM), and the larger management team to implement a strategic field outreach plan with specific campaign deliverables. The Canvass Lead recruits, trains, and manages a staff of canvassers with the goal of disseminating targeted grassroots and grass-tops messaging to targeted voters. Being a Canvass Lead requires that you work independently, exercise good judgment, and work hard to meet the office's staffing, campaign, and fieldwork goals. We are seeking a potential applicant with the flexibility to start immediately and the capability to jump into an existing operation and hit the ground running. Must be a self-starter, willing to work long hours with a passion for educational equity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervising paid canvassers in order to achieve program goals
• Oversight and execution of recruitment, intake, training, and deployment of canvassers
• Providing canvassers with clear, quantitative goals and tracking progress
• Quality controlling canvasser data
• Cutting turf
• Utilizing internal tracking systems in order to monitor workflow
• Daily field reporting detailing the field activities of the day
QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent communication and oratory skills
• Leadership skills
• Ability to meet goals
• Basic computer and interpersonal skills
• Punctuality!
• Highly motivated
• Previous canvass management experience, either paid or volunteer
• Familiarity with Votebuilder/VAN software and Google Sheets
• Familiarity with Predictive Dialer Software
• Ability to start immediately
***Competitive Salary commensurate with experience.
