The Center for Popular Democracy/CPD Action (CPD/CPDA) is seeking a full-time Campaign Director for Immigrant Justice.
The Center for Popular Democracy/CPD Action builds organizing power and transforms the local, state, and national policy landscape through deep, long-term partnerships with leading community organizing groups and labor unions nationwide. CPD/CPDA collaborates with partners to build their internal strength, infrastructure and capacity – and to envision, run, and win campaigns to move a pro-worker, pro-immigrant, racial justice agenda at the city and state level.
About the Position:
CPD/CPDA is seeking a Campaign Director for Immigrant Justice who will work closely with local community organizations to envision and win city and state policy victories that advance immigrant justice, and to replicate strategies to protect immigrant communities from current anti-immigrant attacks. This person will work closely with the Director of Immigrant Justice and Leadership and the Senior Staff Attorney for Immigrant Rights, as well CPD's communications and campaign staff, to coordinate national support for state-based community organizations leading these fights on the ground. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to help strengthen the immigrant rights movement and support grassroots organizations at the forefront of this fight.
Primary Responsibilities
The Campaign Director for Immigrant Justice will:
· Build deep, close relationships with core CPD affiliates who are focused on – or interested in building – immigrant justice campaign work;
· Provide strategic, and on-the-ground, campaign and organizing support to CPD affiliates working to advance municipal or state-level immigrant rights campaigns;
· Connect immigrant rights campaigns in cities and states across the country into an integrated national effort;
· Work effectively with CPD's capacity teams to add firepower to CPD affiliates' campaigns and to strengthen them as organizations;
· Serve as the primary campaigner for rapid-response immigrant defensive battles in cities and states where our partners are positioned to lead;
· Work closely with other CPD campaigns teams to integrate an immigrant rights lens across all issue campaigns and organizing efforts;
· Stay updated on the most cutting edge research and policies that advance immigrant justice reform.
Job Requirements
· A demonstrated commitment to social, racial and economic justice
· A deep understanding of the challenges facing immigrant communities, communities of color, and low and moderate income families;
· At least three years' experience leading campaigns, preferably on issues with an explicit immigrant rights and/or racial justice framing;
· Experience working with grassroots organizations and in diverse communities;
· Experience working across departments or teams within an organization;
· Success as an independent, self-motivated leader with an ability to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment;

PAC Director, Bend the Arc Jewish Action
Bend the Arc is building the power and passion of the progressive Jewish movement in America by bringing together Jews from across the country to advocate and organize for a more just and equal society. Position Overview:
The PAC Manager will be based out of Bend the Arc Jewish Action's Washington, DC office, and will report to the Director of Bend the Arc Jewish Action. The PAC Manager will oversee and execute Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC's fundraising efforts and will assist the Director in formulating the PAC's overall strategy for each election cycle by tracking Congressional elections/polling, researching Congressional candidates, and suggesting endorsements. The PAC Manager will be responsible for carrying out that strategy and assisting the overall political strategy of the organization by drafting political memos, fundraising emails, candidate profiles, and website content. They will also lead Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC's endorsement process with its board.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Fundraising:
- Ensure the PAC hits its fundraising targets for the 2018 cycle
- Work effectively with board, political donors and their staffs
- Proactively identify opportunities to communicate motivational developments to political donors and grow the PAC's email list
- Work with the development team to coordinate strategy for current major donors, and identify and develop prospective major donors
PAC Operations:
- Manage weekly disbursements to candidates
- Work with consultants and CFO to ensure FEC and other compliance reports are filed properly
- Ensure all details on all communications, from the PAC website to weekly disbursements, are polished to affirm the organization's status as a top tier political operation
- Stay abreast of all developments in PAC regulation and best practices to ensure our compliance and maximum efficiency.
PAC Strategy and Endorsement Process:
- Keep current on the political climate and the relative strength and weakness of all potential federal target races in order to make strong recommendations to the Director on potential endorsees.
- Work with Board and Bend the Arc Staff to court endorsees
- Manage the candidate interview process, including but not limited to maintaining a candidate questionnaire, and directing interviews between potential endorsees and lay leaders
- Liaise with candidates' campaign staffs and national party staff once they are endorsed to ensure relationships are adequately maintained
Political Communications:
- Ensure that all political communications are current and professional by staying on top of political developments
- Draft all fundraising emails on behalf of endorsees to grassroots donors
- Maintain the PAC website, as well as all promotional materials in collaboration with the Communications Department
Skills and Qualifications include:
- Strong commitment to and passion for the mission of Bend the Arc
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in the fields of political advocacy, political fundraising, and/or campaigns
- Experience with PAC operations
- Understanding of the Congressional political landscape and how to keep up to date on developments within it.
- PAC fundraising experience, including working with donors and maintaining donor relations
- Knowledge of and existing contacts within the American Jewish community and progressive political donor community.
- Highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines

Overview

Responsibilities
The Organizing Director manages FPL's growing organizing department to:
· Nurture FPL's leadership network and build relationships of mutual respect and trust with clergy of many races and religious traditions, including Muslim and Sikh Americans.
· Spearhead the organizing components of FPL issue campaigns including immigration, refugees, LGBT discrimination and health care, overseeing efforts in DC as well as in priority states.
· Draft and execute issue campaign plans.
· Recruit and support FPL clergy spokespeople for various issue campaigns to participate in press conferences, op-ed opportunities, LTEs, sign-on letters, fly-in actions, trainings, and lobby visits.
· Lay the groundwork for new FPL state offices with the support of FPL's Vice President and Development Director.
· Plan and execute FPL's Faithful Voter civic engagement program and FPL contract organizers during election years.
· Design training opportunities & programs (often utilizing skills of FPL staff and partners) ranging from topical (e.g. "Faithful Response to White Nationalism") to skills-based to theological/spiritual.
· Work closely with Development Director to assist with fundraising from congregations and individual donors in key states.
· Travel to key states for clergy and partner meetings (approximately 2 trips per month).
Qualifications
· Demonstrated success developing strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, particularly in communities of color.
· A record of getting things done even in the face of obstacles.
· Bachelor's degree.
· At least 5 years experience in working in advocacy, campaigns, or non-profits.

Political Director (Director of Civic Engagement and Politics)
The Center for Popular Democracy and Center for Popular Democracy Action (CPD/A) build organizing power to transform the local, state and national policy landscape through deep, long-term partnerships with 43 powerful community organizing groups in 30 states across the country.
We seek an experienced and energetic professional who will lead our Politics Department to build and strengthen CPD/A's civic engagement and political program. The Director of Civic Engagement and Politics (Political Director) will work closely with CPD/A core partners to develop, fund, and execute rigorous political and civic engagement programs. CPD/A's state-based partners contacted more than 2 million voters in 2016, particularly voters of color, women, and young people.
Major efforts included voter registration, independent expenditures on the Presidential and US Senate races, local candidates and several statewide and local ballot initiatives. The Political Director is responsible for coordinating these electoral programs, and raising an ambitious budget for partners and a sophisticated centrally staffed Political Department.
The Director manages long-term strategic thinking about how CPD/A and its partners can use political engagement to build sustainable power in historically marginalized communities.
