Media Mobilizing Project (soon to be renamed Movement Alliance Project - look out!) is hiring for three positions across our media, technology and criminal legal system reform organizing.

We are a hub for supporting and developing organizing strategies with poor and working people: strategies that build power for the multi-racial working class in Philadelphia. Our work is rooted in the belief that storytelling is an organizing practice, and we've produced feature films and community media with Black, Brown, immigrant, and poor communities for 15 years. Over that time we've built a network of vibrant community organizations struggling for basic human rights in our city. We've also learned first hand that digital technologies can be part of how communities can win justice, or used to limit our human rights and freedom.

Find out about all the positions here:

POSITION: Story Director
The Story Director will lead Media Mobilizing Project's efforts to use stories, narrative, and media based organizing to advance work for racial and economic justice. The Story Director will oversee and manage staff leads for MMP's media based organizing work, including Philly We Rise and the People's Media Record, along with directing other major organizing and media collaborations, including our new police and violence narrative project.

The Story Director salary is $65,000 – $75,000 per year based on experience.  Benefits include health care (MMP pays 90%) and generous vacation policy, as well as ample scheduling flexibility.

POSITION: Criminal Justice Organizer
Media Mobilizing Project is looking for a Criminal Justice Organizer to work with our policy and communications team, as well as with four local community organizations and national partners, on narrative and community organizing at the intersection of harm, violence and mass incarceration.

The Criminal Justice Organizer salary is $48,000 – $52,500 per year based on experience.  Benefits include health care (MMP pays 90%) and extremely generous vacation policy, as well as ample scheduling flexibility.

POSITION: People's Algorithmic Power Project National Organizer
Media Mobilizing Project is looking for a project coordinator to work with our team of policy organizers and researchers to help lead the People's Algorithmic Power Project (P3A). The P3A National Organizer will work with us to create a network of community organizations and leaders, data scientists and legal strategists who can advance the cause of establishing community control over the deployment and governance of automated decision-making systems at the local level across the US.

The P3A Organizer salary is $55,000 – $65,000 per year based on experience.  Benefits include health care (MMP pays 90%) and extremely generous vacation policy, as well as ample scheduling flexibility.

Applications for all positions opened until filled.
