Campus Vote Project (CVP) was launched in 2012 by Fair Elections Center to expand our work on student voting issues. We work with universities, community colleges, faculty, students, and election officials to reduce barriers to student voting, while helping campuses institutionalize reforms that empower students with the information they need to register and vote. Campus Vote Project has three main areas of focus: institutionalizing voter engagement, providing up-to-date election information, and developing student leaders:
- Institutionalizing voter engagement is building a culture of civic engagement on college and university campuses across the country. This is done through the Voter Friendly Campus program and initiatives including the National Resource Consortium on Full Student Voter Participation.
- Providing up-to-date election information that is accurate and tailored to students. We do this through the development of tools including state student voter guides and webinars on election law with support from the attorneys at Fair Elections Center.
- Developing student leaders through the Democracy Fellowship program at colleges and universities and a Student Advisory Board that oversees Campus Vote Project and is a national voice for the organization.
