Job Description: Field Organizer
Reports to: Political and Organizing Director
Salary: commensurate with experience
A Midwestern moderate Democrat's re-election campaign is seeking hard-working, motivated Field Organizers for the 2020 cycle to help elect Democrats up and down the ticket. Field Organizers will be the face of the campaign with neighborhood volunteers and voters. They will build, train, and motivate local teams of volunteers, coordinating voter registration efforts and voter contact programs. The candidate and his campaign are committed to investing in a robust Democratic infrastructure throughout the district. This is a competitive district and will be critical to maintaining the Democratic majority in the House of Representatives as well as winning a swing state in the 2020 presidential election. The desired candidates for the position will be enthusiastic, organized, and a self-starter with an ability to work both independently and as a team.
Job Responsibilities:
● Work to build local grassroots teams that will then engage in direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and retention.
● Create a strong Democratic presence in communities within your assigned turf.
● Execute direct voter contact, including organizing phone banks, canvasses, and events
● Develop strong relationships with local political leaders, grassroots organizations, and allies.
● Build a local volunteer base to support victory in the August Primary Election, November General Election.
● Be a local representative of the candidate.
Qualifications (Required):
● Dedication to electing the candidate and democrats up and down the ticket.
● Ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
● Ability to work long and irregular hours as necessary.
● Adaptability to emerging campaign situations.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team.
Qualifications (Preferred):
● Previous organizing experience preferred, but not required.
● Applicants should have access to a vehicle and be willing to travel frequently.
