MoveOn Overview:

MoveOn is the largest independent progressive advocacy group in the United States. MoveOn is where millions mobilize for a better society—one in which everyone can thrive. Whether its supporting a  candidate, passing legislation, or changing our national culture, MoveOn members are committed to an inclusive and progressive future. We envision a world marked by equality, sustainability, and justice. And we mobilize together to achieve it.

Project Overview: MoveOn seeks an experienced individual consultant to help coordinate fundraising efforts, specifically around our growing major donor and direct mail fundraising for the organization. MoveOn's major donor fundraising, initiated in 2015, complements our small, grassroots donor base that served as the organization's exclusive source of income for decades and remains the majority of MoveOn's revenue. The major donor program has quickly become an important asset to help MoveOn meet the escalating challenges of this historical moment, raising more than $15 million in less than four years while complying with the highest levels of transparency and reporting. MoveOn's direct mail program began in 2018 and is on track to be an important revenue stream for the organization in years to come. Both are a part of a robust fundraising program that's primarily driven by grassroots donations from our millions strong membership across the country.
