Digital Campaigner (DC, remote possible)
Overview
Faith in Public Life seeks a motivated Digital Campaigner to play a key role in advancing our work of faith as a force for justice within the digital ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have experience growing email lists, crafting compelling messages and analyzing and segmenting lists, including testing, reporting and use of the voter file. They will thrive in translating campaign objectives and strategies into digital assets, tools and resources, in leveraging digital advocacy tools such as webinars, outreach SMS, sign on letters, peer to peer texting and social media to activate and move leaders up a ladder of engagement. They will be collaborative in their process and independent in their execution, with the ability to solve complex problems quickly to keep the work moving. This position will report to the VP of Organizing and Campaigns.
About Faith in Public Life
Faith in Public Life (FPL) and Faith in Public Life Action (FPLAF) (our sister 501c4 organization) are a national network of nearly 50,000 clergy and faith leaders united in the prophetic pursuit of justice and the common good. With staff in four states and growing, we work closely with our members to take strategic moral action that shapes policy both locally and nationally. We believe that faith leaders have unique moral power to influence public debates and build more just and equitable communities.
Position Responsibilities
Work closely with the VP of Organizing and Campaigns and a digital strategy firm, to plan, draft and execute on C3 and C4 campaign content, including emails, sign-on letters and social media content
Write and create compelling email, social media, SMS and relational voter outreach content using messaging research and best practices for each digital tool
Create and leverage digital assets, including digital resources, social media toolkits and more for campaigns as assigned
Stay up to date on current events, identifying strategic opportunities for rapid response
Working with the digital strategy firm, identify digital advertising opportunities, assist with content development, constituent targeting and implementation
Increase FPL and FPL Action reach through email, social media and peer-to-peer platforms, engagement through FPL Action social media channels
Launch and manage SMS text and advocacy platform, relational voter outreach app, and coordinate calendaring and integration of new digital tools w/short and long-term campaign plans, including social media, and email in collaboration with Digital Manager, Communications team, and the Organizing team
Create targeting lists pulled from the voter file and integrate voter file list data matching with email list, social media engagement, digital ads, and digital tools including SMS and advocacy platform and a relational voter outreach application.
Identify creative opportunities to use digital to support or improve ongoing and new C3 and C4 campaigns
Analyze digital metrics and analytics to draw actionable insights and integrate ongoing lessons learned
Design and implement a regular reporting process, supporting the Communications Department and the Digital Manager in the process of evaluating the results of digital campaigns and promoting data-driven decision-making
Serve as a bridge and coordinate between communications and organizing department
Manage outside vendors and contractors to successful and timely execution of deliverables.
Qualifications
Must Haves (If you meet 80% of these characteristics, please apply!)
At least 3 years combined experience in digital organizing, nonprofit advocacy, voter education and mobilization, and/or political campaigns
At least 1 year experience in digital organizing
Excellent writer and communicator, well versed at drafting persuasive messaging that resonates with a diverse range of audiences
Deep understanding of digital tools and which to leverage based on context (rapid response, earned media, turnout, persuasion, etc.)
Experience managing outside vendors or contractors to success
Familiarity with social media management tools such as Hootesuite and Sprout Social
Experience with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as organizing tools
Experience in rapid response email and social media campaigning
Familiarity with messaging research best practices
Familiarity with key data toolsets and platforms (e.g. TargetSmart, Civis, NGP VAN).
Experience with blast emails tools and online activism CRMs (Action Network, ActionKit, NationBuilder, EveryAction, New/Mode etc.)
Familiarity with Wordpress or equivalent CMS
Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal communication, and independent problem-solving skills
Demonstrated success working independently completing projects and in coordination with colleagues on different teams
Commitment to and experience in advancing racial equity and inclusion in the workplace.
Commitment to Faith in Public Life's mission and working with faith leaders and faith messaging in the pursuit of social justice.
Experience working in and with communities of color welcomed and prioritized
Nice to Haves
Field or electoral experience
Familiarity with Photoshop or Illustrator, basic video editing, meme & GIF generators, and/or apps like Canva.
Understanding of Google Analytics
Technical skills, including knowledge of HTML, CSS, etc.
Experience working in a remote team environment
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary for this position is $60,000.
We offer generous and comprehensive benefits including full medical, dental and vision premium coverage, life insurance, and an FSA/DCA savings plan. We also offer an up to 6% 401k plan contribution and a cell phone and professional development stipend. We provide 15 paid vacation days, 10 paid sick days, 10 paid federal holidays, and additional paid administrative leave, including the week between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day.
