Field Director
The Will Merrifield Campaign is seeking a Field Director for the at-large race for DC Council. Will is a housing attorney with experience representing tenants on the front lines of housing struggles in DC and is running on a progressive Green New Deal Recovery Plan as a Fair Elections Insurgent candidate, taking only small-dollar donations and no corporate or PAC money.
General Responsibilities:
Work with campaign manager and candidate to develop a field strategy
Develop lists and field training's for phone banking, peer-to-peer texting, and (eventually) canvassing programs
Manage volunteer recruitment and engagement, including scheduling and filling shifts
Write emails and use social media to recruit volunteers and publicize events
Develop creative alternative ways to connect with voters until in-person events are safe
Qualifications:
1-2 years of field and/or digital organizing experience
Excellent communication skills, including digital writing
Familiarity with NGP, VoteBuilder, Mobilize, and digital tools for phone banking, digital canvassing, texting, etc.
Ability to work independently and make the program your own
DC ties preferred - this position is remote until further notice but will require being in-person in Washington, DC within the next couple of months (dependent upon COVID-19 restrictions).
