THE POSITION:
The Director of Operations, supported by the Operations Admin, sits at the center of our organization and makes it possible for the rest of the team to function at peak levels unfettered by all the stuff it takes for the office run seamlessly. The Director will report to a Partner and be a member of Senior Leadership. They make sure everything the team needs is available; they anticipate problems and solve them before they happen, and they do it with a smile. The role includes diverse functions and the successful candidate will have to be detail-oriented, highly adaptable, and experienced across a wide variety of areas and have a great attitude. Specific duties are outlined below:  
Facilities Management:
- Proactively interacts with building management for all matters including maintenance, HVAC and access
- Point of contact all for vendors and services providers including telecommunications
- Orders and organizes supplies, snacks, t-shirts, and HeyTaco redemptions
- Inventories office-related company assets
- Plans and facilitates office moves including planning for the office configuration post-COVID 19
Social:
- As Chief Morale Officer, you will:
- Work with other operations staff members to plan social and charity activities
- Plan the Annual Holiday Party
- Coordinate monthly birthday recognitions
- Work with HR to implement retention programs
Communications:
- Coordinate internal communications as they relate to social, charity, cultural and infrastructure matters
- Coordinate weekly staff meetings and distribute highlights
- Control conference room schedule, maintenance and supplies
- Distribute inbound mail and collect outbound mail for posting
IT:
- Point of contact to our outsourced IT company as it relates:- Laptop and other hardware management
- Break/fix
- Virus protection
- Performance issues
- Purchases
 
- Video conference software management
- Software platform administration- G Suite
- BSD/ActBlue Access
- Other SaaS
 
HR Coordination
- Work with the HR Department on various tasks including- Staff Onboarding and Offboarding
 
- Staff Onboarding and Offboarding
OTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this critical and visible role, you will be called on to support other activities. These could include:
- Accounting related activities such as bookkeeping
- Creating a budget for all Operations related expenses
- Projects for the Partners or Senior Leadership
- Documenting processes as they relate to Operations
YOU'RE A GOOD FIT IF YOU HAVE:
- 8+ years of Office Management and staff/executive support
- Strong computer skills (platform administration, G Suite, etc.)
- Strong language and writing skills for clear concise e-mails and correspondence
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to deal with high-pressure situations
- Ability to stay on-task and to go above and beyond without constant supervision
- Experience with documenting best practices
- Experience tracking expenses
- Strong people skills.
THE LOCATION
Mothership Strategies is located at 1328 Florida Avenue NW (near 14th St.), in a residential area of Washington, DC, close to Historic U St.  We are metro accessible and located in a 2 story, open-concept office.
