Assembly Democratic Caucus Deputy Political / GOTV Director
2020 is an incredibly exciting cycle to be in Wisconsin and the Assembly Democratic Caucus' is in the heart of the action. We are fighting to maintain our Governor's veto and have plans to take the fight to vulnerable Republican members of the Assembly. Our efforts this year will be of national significance, with our candidates providing crucial top of the ticket support by running effective campaigns in their Assembly districts.
The Deputy Political / GOTV Director will serve as a liaison between candidate campaigns, ADCC Political Director, and in collaboration with the rest of the ADCC team.
Primary responsibilities include:
Field and GOTV Plan Support: Work with the Political Director and on-the-ground campaign managers to evaluate and implement individually tailored field plans for targeted districts. Work to create and help execute individualized GOTV plans for targeted districts in concert with the campaigns and other partners. This will require assessing vote goals, target universes, and on-the-ground capacity, as well as designing and implementing multi-faceted voter contact programs that are flexible and responsive to the unique challenges of COVID-19.
Reporting and Training: Work with campaigns and Political Director to track field and fundraising metrics on a weekly and daily basis. Help with campaigns' VAN management and provide training to campaign staff and volunteers as needed. Produce reports on campaign progress for Political Director, Executive Director and ADCC leadership team.
Finance: Work with ADCC Political Director and campaign managers to ensure that Assembly campaign finance reports are filed on time and correctly. Work with campaigns to troubleshoot and maximize their campaign finance databases.
Other Responsibilities assigned based on experience and skillset.
Recommended skills to do well in this position:
- Ability to plan and carefully utilize time
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- When safe, access to a car and available to drive for work
- Previous campaign experience, ideally in a campaign management or field director position
- Experience managing staff and/or interns
- Experience working in a hierarchical structure as part of a larger team
- Graceful interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to think outside the box
- Ability to work as a team
- Familiarity and experience with voter and donor database systems
Compensation: This position will be paid $4,000 a month through November 2020 and will include a competitive benefits package including employer-paid health insurance.
This role will begin remotely with the possibility of remaining that way for the duration of the job.
