Kansas Coordinated Campaign - Regional Organizing Director
The 2020 Kansas Democratic Coordinated Campaign is seeking highly motivated, passionate Regional Organizing Directors (RODs) for our statewide organizing program. RODs will report directly to the Organizing Director and will oversee the execution of the organizing and voter contact program in their region. They will directly manage a team of organizers, coach, and hold them accountable to daily and weekly metrics. This is a cycle position, with employment through November 15, 2020. Although the Kansas Democratic Party is based in Topeka, Kansas, this position can be remote for the cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, train, and mentor Field Organizers
Hold Field Organizers accountable for meeting their daily and weekly benchmarks and goals
Track progress to goal, and coaching a team of Field Organizers to success
Act as point person in the region with grasstops leaders and key activists
Communicate clear priorities, needs, and expectations by implementing communication structures with staff and their volunteers
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
At least one cycle of field experience on issue or electoral campaigns, preferably one cycle managing staff
Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure
Experience with Votebuilder
Willingness to work extensive hours, including nights and weekends
Strong interpersonal skills
Positive attitude and ability to motivate staff and volunteers members
Ability to problem solve effectively and creatively
