Nancy Goroff for Congress campaign is seeking a full-time Communications Director through the November General election. The Communications Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications plan, as well as serving as an advance/body person for the candidate.
The campaign is based in Suffolk County, NY but working remotely may be available due to the pandemic. Housing assistance may be provided if in district. The position starts as soon as possible. Salary will be commensurate with experience ranging from $4000-$7000/month.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy across a variety of platforms
Draft press releases, social media posts, website content, op-eds, etc.
Build press relationships and secure coverage for campaign events
Respond to all incoming messages and questionnaires
Develop and execute creative new ideas for earned media
Manage candidate's calendar and respond to incoming meeting requests
Staff candidate for campaign events and meetings
Requirements/qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in political communications, either on campaigns or with an advocacy organization
Excellent writing and communications skills
Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
Ability to upwardly manage a principle and respond efficiently to requests
Team player who is willing to step up wherever needed to get the job done
New York ties or knowledge of New York politics a plus
