Political Internship
End Citizens United's Mission: To combat Big Money in politics and dismantle our rigged political system by electing campaign finance reform champions and passing state ballot measures. These champions will work toward overturning Citizens United, ending unlimited money in politics, and ending Dark Money. We'll work toward the mission by: electing pro-reform candidates, raising the issue of money in politics as a national priority, and using grassroots membership to demonstrate political power on the issue of money in politics.
Reports to: Political Assistant
Position summary: Responsibilities will include tracking campaigns, drafting memorandums on candidates, and providing administrative support to the political department. Prospective interns should have a strong interest in taking on big money in politics, be highly organized, and have a good attention to detail. Previous electoral experience is preferred, but not required.
Interns will also benefit from the Intern Educational Program, which aims to educate interns on Democratic politics and the issue of reform while providing unique opportunities to hone their professional development skills. The program includes presentations with top Democratic professionals, tutorials on networking best practices, and discussions on themes within the reform movement. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to interact with and receive professional guidance from all members of ECU, and will gain strong experience in progressive campaigning.
