Martín Miguel Fernandez is running for DC Council in Ward 2 and seeks a talented campaign manager to help guide his campaign to victory in November. The Campaign Manager will be responsible for day-to-day aspects of campaign operation, including but not limited to fundraising, scheduling, communications, political work and direct voter contact.
Responsibilities
Develop and oversee an aggressive and creative fundraising plan that takes advantage of DC's public financing system
Recruit and manage consultants to handle paid media
Manage consultants to handle digital fundraising and outreach
Assist the candidate with political research and outreach
Manage the candidate's schedule and day-to-day activities
Develop a smart communications plan and execute all press-related strategy
Recruit, train and manage an aggressive volunteer roster to reach as many voters as possible through phone banks and (possibly, pandemic permitting) canvassing
Recruit, train and manage interns to assist with day-to-day campaign operations and direct voter contact
Develop and execute a strategy to grow the candidate's presence on social media
Develop and maintain a campaign budget
Qualifications
2-3 cycles of campaign experience required. Previous campaign management experience is not required but is strongly preferred
Some background or experience fundraising is required
Strong progressive values and a commitment to equity and social justice
Highly organized and detail oriented, able to work well under pressure and accustomed to long or unusual hours
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Connections or experience working with the DC media scene is a strong plus
Ability to recruit, train and manage interns and volunteers
Salary range of $4,000-$7,000 per month commensurate with experience. The person in this position must be able to: frequently communicate via zoom meetings, email, and phone; remain in a stationary position 50% of the time; move for extended periods of time, often in outdoor weather conditions.
