Position Description – Deputy Field Director
A tight red to blue Congressional in the Pacific Northwest is seeking someone passionate about organizer development and mobilization, electoral field experience is required. The Deputy Field Director will manage various volunteer pipelines and support field organizers in rising to the occasion, building thorough and persistent volunteer leadership teams. They will also be responsible for coaching organizers through a Get Out The Vote effort able to withstand an entirely digital voter outreach environment. Reports to the Field Director.
Organizing Management Responsibilities
Day-to-day coaching and management of field organizers
Use VAN to communicate and evaluate the strength of the field program
Train, coach, and manage organizers to meet and exceed team development, volunteer recruitment, and voter contact goals
Build field team culture among staff & create a meaningful volunteer experience
Work with the field director to implement the GOTV program and adjust per vol team
Digital Organizing Responsibilities
Design a creative and outcomes-driven volunteer pipeline, and systems by which to and track, manage, evaluate, and adapt based on corresponding data
Train organizers and volunteers on digital organizing platforms
Find new ways to have quality conversations with voters
Skills and Qualifications:
At least 1-2 cycles of electoral organizing, or comparable experience in labor, community, or movement organizing
Experience managing staff, especially in a campaign context, is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills,and flexibility in a fast-paced environment
Ready to handle many projects simultaneously, frequent meetings and tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills/ability to hear people from different backgrounds
Ability to work long pst hours,nights, and weekends on a metrics-driven team
