Voter Protection Post-Election Coordinator
Salary: $4,500 per month through November 15, and includes a benefits package.
The Iowa Democratic Party seeks a Voter Protection Post-Election Coordinator to support the Voter Protection Team's work by building a strong team of volunteer attorneys and executing programs that ensure every Iowan's vote is counted.
Our right to vote is fundamental—and when voters are able to have their ballots counted, fairly and accurately, Democrats win. The Voter Protection Post-Election Coordinator's role is crucial to ensure every vote that is cast in November is counted. This position reports to the Deputy Voter Protection Director for Post-Election.
Responsibilities include:
Volunteer Recruitment and Program Operations
Be the primary point of contact for programmatic needs when it comes to volunteer recruitment, vetting, training, and troubleshooting.
Execute statewide programs, including managing direct voter contact programs and reviewing volunteer work product, to ensure every vote is counted.
Reach out over the phone, via email & text to recruit volunteers for key voter protection work.
Election Administrator Preparedness:
Directly work with local election administration regarding absentee ballot curing and provisional ballot curing.
Stakeholder Relationship Management:
Support VoPro team relationships with community organizations and other allies, including out of state volunteer groups, to build capacity for programmatic needs.
Qualifications:
At least one prior cycle of campaign experience, preference given to statewide electoral experience
Attention to detail, highly-developed organizational skills, and an ability to collaborate with other stakeholders on projects
Fluency in VAN, LBJ, Google Suite, and other commonly used campaign software
Comfortable using data to inform decision-making strategy, and appreciate the importance of reporting clean and accurate data
Experience in managing volunteers, planning and executing events, and moving projects forward
A proven capacity to balance multiple deadlines and competing priorities
Ability to work irregular hours and thrive in high-pressure situations
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Positive attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes to win
Political organizing experience, legal experience, and relationships in Iowa are preferred but not required.
