About Blue Squad
Blue Squad's mission is to build a more lasting progressive society. Our strategy to accomplish this is to build a social network for progressive organizing. In the Blue Squad network, organizers can create, post, and share "missions" for users to carry out. Each mission makes it easy for users to carry out a task that impacts their community. For example, you can run voter registration drives, organize rallies, raise awareness around an important issue, and more - all with a few clicks on your phone or computer. We believe that providing a simple, fun, and social experience around organizing will give progressive activists a significant advantage when it comes to effecting change
About the role
We're hiring a web developer for the development of two products. The first product is our client-facing web application, which gives our customers access to content creation tools and advanced analytics around user activity. The second is an upcoming user-facing web application, which will give users a similar experience to the one they have on our mobile app. In short, you'll be responsible for front-end development of both a B2B publishing/analytics product and a social network.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Planning out feature development based on high-fidelity Adobe XD mockups
- Ensuring a complete understanding of feature requirements through discussions with engineering and growth teams
- Using our internal API for standard CRUD operations from the front-end
- Implementing a variety of front-end features like charts, tables, reports, and real-time feeds
- Drafting QA checklists for other team members to review features
- Deploying new features to production
- Troubleshooting and deploying fixes for any bugs that may arise
We expect anyone in this role to be very familiar (2+ years experience or usage in multiple projects) with the following technologies:
- React.js
- React-router or Rect.Context
- HTML
- CSS
- Git
- RESTful APIs
- Docker
- AWS-based deployment
Familiarity with the following technologies will be helpful but are not a requirement:
- Material UI
- Moment JS
- Flex (CSS)
- Local Storage
- Postman
