NRG Consulting Group is looking to contract 10 skilled political organizers to join non-partisan organizations working with ProGeorgia on a voter engagement effort for the Georgia special elections.

About ProGeorgia

ProGeorgia is a statewide network, or table, committed to the goal of ensuring that every Georgian is able to fully participate in our democracy. They focused on solving real problems for real people in Georgia. ProGeorgia is committed to bringing greater equity to Georgia by engaging underrepresented and socially responsible voters in the democratic process while establishing collective action around common issue areas. Those issue areas include voting rights, quality and affordable health care, economic justice, civil rights, improving public education and more. Through common sense collaboration and increasing political engagement, ProGeorgia works to create measurable positive change.

ProGeorgia is coordinating a state-wide effort with 38 table partners – local and state-wide organizations led by and focused on serving BIPOC, women, faith based organizing, and low-income and poor people – to ensure that people's voices are heard at the ballot box. Together they aim to reach more than 2.5 million voters of color, train hundreds of poll monitors, and use social media, digital organizing, and in-person voter education to protect the vote. Organizers will be working directly with local table partners.

The Role

Runoff Organizers will be registering people to vote in rural areas of Georgia including Albany and Savannah to ensure that communities of color have their voices heard at the polls. They will be working on a coordinated effort of Get Out The Vote, voter education, election protection, and digital organizing tactics to reach a universe of 2.5 million voters.

Organizers will be responsible for direct outreach to the community via street canvassing. Organizers may also manage GOTV efforts such as Parties at the Polls or other in-person or virtual events to increase voter turnout.

Covid-19 has changed the landscape of in person organizing, but we know that it will take meaningful, in person conversations to ensure that folks can get registered and out to the polls. We have strong health guidelines in place to ensure the safety of our staff and the public and will be providing our team members with PPE to be used when working.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience running a canvassing or voter registration operations is preferred;

  • Passion for bolstering civic engagement and knowledge of the GA political landscape;

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, grow, and manage a team;

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to nail logistics

  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills;

  • The ability to work with and communicate with a diverse group of personalities;

  • Background in 501c3 work or the desire to work with progressive organizations; and

  • Demonstrated commitment to racial and gender equality and record of success working with communities of color, women, low income, LGBTQIA, and other historically underrepresented communities.
