Tenants Organizer
Homes for All St. Louis is a coalition building power in Black and Brown communities around the Greater St. Louis area and altering the socio-political landscape for renter-friendly policies by catalyzing tenant unions. The coalition is made up of tenants, grassroots groups, and nonprofits. A group of renters began meeting in February of 2018 supported by St. Louis Socialists, Democratic Socialists of America and Dutchtown South Community Corporation. Since then, the coalition has grown to six member groups--four being tenants unions and five ally organizations--all nonprofits who provide legal and infrastructural support. With ongoing campaigns against one of the biggest corporate landlords, spanning the midwest, a Tenants' Bill of Rights campaign on the horizon and mass evictions sweeping the country, Homes For All St. Louis is hiring a Tenants Organizer to build and support the development of a tenants union.
