Position Summary:  Western Resource Advocates (WRA) seeks an experienced Climate Policy Analyst or Senior Climate Policy Analyst to develop and advocate for policies and mechanisms that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the Interior West.  WRA's Clean Energy Program works to reduce GHG emissions and other environmental impacts of electricity production in the Interior West by accelerating the region's transition to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and other cleaner energy technologies. This position will focus on developing policies and mechanisms that link our electricity sector work with other economic sectors to enable GHG reductions across the economy.  This position provides an exciting opportunity to shape state-level climate policy and build a clean, sustainable future for the region. The Climate Policy Analyst or Senior Climate Analyst will report to WRA's Climate Policy Manager and will work closely with our Clean Energy team.  

About WRA:  Founded in 1989, WRA is dedicated to protecting the West's land, air, and water to ensure that vibrant communities exist in balance with nature. We use law, science, and economics to craft innovative solutions to the most pressing conservation issues in the interior West within three core program areas: Clean Energy, Healthy Rivers and Western Lands.

Location:  This position can be based in any of WRA's offices, which are located in Boulder, CO; Denver, CO; Salt Lake City, UT; Phoenix, AZ; Santa Fe, NM; and Carson City, NV. WRA employees are strongly encouraged to work from home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Salary & Benefits:  Salary range for this position is $50,000-$75,000 for Climate Policy Analyst or $75,000-$110,000 for Senior Climate Policy Analyst; salary depends on relevant experience and new staff rarely start at the top of the range – most start close to the midpoint of the range.  WRA's excellent benefits package includes health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, life & disability insurance, 3 weeks paid vacation leave, sick leave, parental leave, sabbatical leave after five years; and an RTD EcoPass for staff in the Denver/Boulder metro area. Position is full-time exempt.
