Spiros Consulting is a national Democratic opposition research firm in Washington, D.C., and we're currently looking for interns for Spring 2021. We do research and policy work for candidates and interest groups across the country.
Candidates should be at least in their sophomore year of college, have a strong understanding of national politics, and be able to commit to working 15-20 hours per week during the fall semester. Campaign experience is a major plus, but not a requirement.
This is a paid internship with a $2,000 stipend for the semester.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, internships will be conducted remotely for the Spring 2021 semester.
Anyone who is interested can forward their resume and cover letter to interns@spirosconsulting.com Thank you!
A Little More About Us
Founded in 2007, Spiros Consulting conducts opposition research, policy work, and general consulting for Democratic candidates and interest groups across the country. We have worked in more than 45 states on races for President, Governor, Senate, Congress, Attorney General, Mayor, and numerous independent expenditures, including on one of Politico's "Top 10 political upsets" and one The Hill's "greatest upsets of the last decade." National Journal called our work the "most damaging early oppo hit" for the first half of 2014. The New York Times' Jonathan Martin noted our work and asked "has any statewide candidate been so eviscerated out of box by separate oppo hits…?" and The New York Times' Maggie Haberman noted our "aggressive fact-checking" during the 2016 Presidential primary.
In the 2018 cycle, Spiros helped elect two governors in contested states and seven new members of Congress, while winning nearly 30 races overall. Spiros helped stop a Trump cabinet nominee, elect a Lt. Governor in Nevada, Attorneys General in Illinois and Maryland, and mayors in Cincinnati and Seattle, and pick up a state Supreme Court seat in Wisconsin. On the interest group side, Spiros did work for the DGA, DCCC, House Majority PAC, Equality PAC, No Labels Action, Swing Left, Our Revolution, and more.
In addition to opposition research we have written and developed more than 100 policy proposals for candidates around the country, leading to positive press and strong contrasts with opponents.
