The Nassau County Democratic Party is seeking an experienced Coordinated Campaign Director to lead a diverse and talented team. We are looking for a passionate, hardworking individual who is committed to building the grassroots turnout operation needed to win elections up and down the ballot for Democrats in November 2021.
Role Overview
The Coordinated Campaign Director will be responsible for managing a multifaceted campaign and oversee the Organizing, Digital, Data and GOTV programs.The Coordinated Director should be a skilled manager, positive, solutions-oriented, creative and capable of motivating a diverse staff. Candidates with experience writing and implementing organizing programs are preferred.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Including, but not limited to:
Develop management and communication systems that hold teams accountable and promote a positive and collaborative campaign environment;
Guide the direction of the campaign and use data to make informed decisions about voter outreach tactics;
Oversee strategies and systems that lead the organizing program to successfully meet daily and weekly organizing metrics;
Manage relationships with multiple stakeholders including candidates, campaign managers, staff, volunteers, activists and constituents;
Work with campaign and party leadership to implement communications, messaging, organizing and digital strategies; and
Ensure that all campaign staff are properly trained on the technical aspects of the job and identify training opportunities to build skills and raise the bar for excellence.
Required Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively and clearly communicate with different types of stakeholders, from high level elected officials to grassroots activists;
Strong collaboration skills, willingness to contribute ideas and work effectively on a team;
Strong leadership skills with the ability to make thoughtful decisions and communicate your priorities, needs and expectations;
Must have access to a vehicle, computer, a cellphone, and be willing to relocate to the Long Island area; and
Capacity and desire to work long hours in a fast-moving campaign setting.
Preferred Background & Experience:
Three cycles of organizing experience and at least two cycles of staff management experience;
Proficiency with Votebuilder/VAN;
Experience in or familiarity with Long Island and New York politics preferred; and
Diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
