[GAINPOWER.org: Jobs That Are Left] NH Democratic Party - Press Secretary, Concord NH (remote temporarily)

The New Hampshire Democratic Party is seeking an experienced Press Secretary to assist the Communications Team in implementation of the state communications efforts.

Your day-to-day will consist of:

  • Daily tracking of state and national legislative efforts as it relates to the Democratic Party and issues facing our membership;

  • Monitoring news media. 

  • Drafting and monitoring social media throughout the day and keeping our leaders informed as events unfold;

  • Writing press releases, statements, media advisories, talking points, op-eds, and other press-ready materials. 

  • Working with other members of the Communications Department to fulfill research needs and goals, including, but not limited to assisting in rapid response efforts and for other duties as assigned.

  • Organizing press events including recruiting speakers. 

  • Answering reporters' queries and pitching press events.  

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of at least one full campaign or advocacy campaign cycle working in a communications role

  • Strong interest in New Hampshire Democratic politics

  • On-the-record experience

  • Experience managing all aspects of digital and social media

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Demonstrated abilities in work in a fast-paced environment

Salary range is $40,000 to $47,000 depending on level of experience. Please list "Press Secretary Application" in the subject line. No calls, please. Remote work is encouraged during the covid-19 pandemic; it is expected the Press Secretary will move to NH once remote work ends.

Position will be open until filled and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
