Job Title: Communications Director
Salary Range: $6,000 to $8,000
The Communications Director will be the primary point of contact for all press and media communications and direct the campaign's rapid response. They will coordinate with the campaign manager and campaign's communications consultants, as well as direct communications staff.
They are responsible for developing and shaping press opportunities and outreach. They will write press releases, media materials, talking points, speeches, and prep materials for the candidate. They will help write and shape all public facing materials including policy proposals, web and social media copy, and other collateral. They should be able to help develop and execute on press opportunities (i.e. events that would attract press) and on content creation for social media. They should have an understanding of best practices for print and digital mediums and on understanding polling and messaging data. They are also responsible for briefing the candidate on current events and relevant news.
At least one cycle of director level communications experience in a political campaign or related organization required.
