Job OverviewWe are seeking a Communication Director for a Boston Mayoral campaign. In this position you will be a part of the campaign's senior staff and report directly to the campaign manager.
Responsibilities and DutiesHelping to develop, implement, and execute an overall campaign communications strategy.
Oversee all aspects of campaign communications, working closely with the campaign manager and communication consultants
- Building relationships with the press corps
Setting up and staffing interview opportunities for the principal
Writing copy for internal and external communications (press releases, fundraising letters, newsletters, emails, print collateral, website, social media, etc.)
Maintaining the campaign social media and overall online presence
2+ cycles experience in campaign or political communications
'On The Record' press relations
Strong verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively
Good marketing sense – developing messages, slogans and tactics that create buzz and draw attention
Social media and online tools management
Good computer skills and knowledge of database programs

Graphic design, InDesign, NGP, WordPress and HTML knowledge
Social media fundraising experience
Additional Details
If offered this position, as a result of COVID-19 restrictions, you would likely begin working from home and conducting all campaign business virtually. However as the campaign progresses, and in accordance with all COVID-19 guidelines prescribed at that time, you will likely be asked to begin reporting to work in person.
Compensation
4,000-5,000 a month based on experience
