Field Organizer
Remote/In-Person (based out of Boston, MA with limited in-person responsibilities until wider vaccine distribution)
REPORTS TO: Field Director
STATUS: Full-Time
PAY RATE: $3,000/Mo
SCHEDULE: Varies (see second page)
Position Summary
We are looking for a person who is driven by a desire to make a tangible difference in people's lives. Our campaign is centered on a strong commitment to make Boston a city for everyone. Field Organizers will work closely with the Field Director to develop and implement direct voter contact strategies to recruit volunteers and engage voters in every neighborhood of Boston. The largest portion of an organizer's time will be spent communicating with our team of volunteers and voters over the phone, by text, and (pending the status of vaccine availability and always following CDC guidelines on physical distancing) at the doors.
Job Responsibilities
Field Work:
Support the overall strategy of Annissa for Boston, with a focus on grassroots volunteer mobilization and direct voter contact.
Identify, recruit, train, and retain a diverse group of volunteers from all across Boston, with concrete daily and weekly goals to:
Identify volunteer prospects and strong supporters through multiple modes of contact including phone calls, texts, events, and social media.
Recruit volunteers to conduct direct voter contact.
Train volunteers regularly over video conference.
Retain volunteers by building a strong volunteer team culture that provides support to experienced and new volunteers alike.
Manage and execute a direct voter contact program, including phone bank, text bank, canvassing, and relational organizing operations.
Execute the signatures collection plan to quickly secure Annissa's spot on the ballot.
Organize virtual meetings and events for the campaign.
Leadership and Management:
Train and retain a team of Campaign Fellows from all across Boston.
Lead Campaign Fellows to support the projects of other departments, train volunteers, and conduct direct voter contact.
Schedule and conduct one-on-one or group meetings with Campaign Fellows to invest in their skill building and provide feedback on their work by video, phone, or in-person.
Report to the Field Director weekly on the qualitative state of individual Campaign Fellows and the Campaign Fellowship program as a whole.

Skills & Qualifications
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Comfort with talking to people on the phone everyday.
Strong grasp of contemporary political issues and current events.
Deep and demonstrated commitment to progressive values.
Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, one-on-one and in a group.
Self-driven with the desire to put team success over personal ego.
Capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends, depending on campaign needs.
Experience recruiting and/or managing a group of people highly preferred.
Political campaign and/or community organizing experience preferred.
Experience working with VAN preferred.
Schedule
The Field Organizer position starts on April 1st and ends on September 30th or November 15th depending on the result of the September Primary Election. Work hours will include weekday evenings and weekend days.
