Getting through the upsetting daily events affecting our community and country can be challenging - but this is a great way to do something positive. Each day we're reminded of why we need such a robust and diverse collection of organizations working to impact our democracy, elections, and advocacy. Thankfully, there are so many who do and keep us inspired. The 2022 midterm victories on the local, state, and national levels were made possible by amazing political organizations. They helped to register new voters, get out and protect the vote, and elect Progressive candidates. Organizations like last year's Powerful IDEA Award winners New Georgia Project, Working Families Party, Black Male Voter Project, Advance Native Political Leadership, and many more are great examples of groups around the nation creating positive change.
We launched the Powerful IDEA Awards to highlight and recognize their work. We want the awards to help elevate their contributions to our wins, learn from their experience, and help ensure they continue to receive future support. Awards not only help celebrate past work but can also profoundly influence future work. Just looks at the Academy Awards this week or the hundreds of other industry awards programs that celebrate professional work. This years Powerful IDEA Awards want to highlight the organizations in 2022 that lead the charge and are making a huge difference for our Inspirational Organizations awards category. |  | This years Inspirational Organization category was expanded to include the following: Ballot Measure Campaign Candidate Campaign Non political Corporations Consulting firm Funding Organization Leading Through A Racial Equity Lens / DEI National Issue Advocacy Organization New organization making impact (501c3/501c4) Political Action Committee (PAC/SuperPAC) Progressive Media Outlet State Issue Advocacy Organization State, County, Or Local Party (Party Committee) Voter Education Organizations (501c3)
