Position Summary
The Policy Leadership (PL) team seeks a Manager of Policy Research to support LEE members as they seek and pursue leadership opportunities in education policy that will help to achieve educational equity and excellence for all children. The Manager of Policy Research will report directly to the Director, Member Support & Research. They will work across LEE teams to identify opportunities to create and source policy resources that meet the needs of LEE members interested in education policy, both civically and professionally. The Manager will also be responsible for managing LEE's member-driven policy resource request system, including delegating and working with contractors to ensure high-quality deliverables. The Manager will have a commitment to inspiring and empowering LEE members to drive action through policy.

Job responsibilities
- Work across LEE teams to develop and source content targeted towards the policy leadership development of members seeking to drive change in their communities;
- Resources may include policy briefs, newsletters, and digital resources such as blogs and other web-based content
- Stay abreast of policy developments in key regions to identify opportunities to develop and source content to further the knowledge of members in those regions;
- Manage the Rapid Response Team (RRT) policy resource request system, including but not limited to: assigning resource requests, tracking open requests, ensuring the development of high-quality resources; and evaluating and improving the request system;
- Write policy briefs and research requests, related to his/her areas of expertise, as needed;
- Support PL programs related to his/her areas of expertise, as needed.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required;
- 3 to 5 years professional experience;
- Experience working in policy, politics, advocacy or organizing at a state or national level for at least one year;
- Excellent written skills, particularly in communicating about policy to different audiences;
- Experience writing in a digital media format preferred, but not required;
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, virtual environment;
- Experience in lateral management in driving towards desired outcomes;
- Highly organized and detail oriented
