Clean Water Fund and Clean Water Action are seeking a part time National Communications Coordinator to join our National Communications Team. Clean Water Action is a 1 million member national organization that believes we should "Put Drinking Water First". Clean Water Action works for clean water, prevention of health-threatening pollution, creation of environmentally-safe jobs and businesses, and empowerment of people to make democracy work. Clean Water Fund provides research, education, and organizing assistance to strengthen grassroots environmental efforts, promoting the public interest on issues related to water, natural resources, health and a healthy economy. Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund work together on selected campaigns and programs.
Responsibilities
- Work with Director of Communications to develop and implement online and offline strategies that support state and national campaigns, issue education, volunteer recruitment, outreach and fundraising.
- Coordinate the management of web site, broadcast e-mail, media relations, fundraising and organizing/advocacy.
- Work with state program staff to strengthen existing communications tactics and implement new techniques and innovation to engage Clean Water members, supports, and the general public.
- Train, assist and consult with national and state-based staff for campaigns and ongoing communications/activism and fundraising.
- Assist with the management of relationships with outside consultants and vendors.
- Participate in and help with the coordination of the National Communications Team
- Participate in various national program teams as a representative of the Communications Team.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in non-profit communications or marketing, including experience writing for external audiences.
- Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to articulate complex issues for different audiences through different platforms.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms and their use to in campaign communications and to engage the public and elected officials.
- Knowledge of Drupal, Wordpress, HTML, CSS, usability, and e-mail marketing best practices preferred
- Passion for environmental issues and the organizations' mission and programs.
- Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
- Well organized including good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and simultaneous projects; ability to work independently and in a team.

• Position is 50% FTE
