This is a full-time salaried position with the Idaho Democratic Party in downtown Boise, Idaho. Job Description: To provide transparent and accountable system of managing all financial processes and reporting requirements of our organization as well as other member organizations related to the Idaho Democratic Party.
Financial Oversight and Compliance duties include:
- Manage system of receiving and disbursing funds;
- Reconcile accounts of the organization with bank statements;
- Prepare financial reports on a monthly basis, including balance sheets and income statements;
- Deliver financial reports and recommendations to Finance Department members.
- Ensure all legally required compliance reports are prepared and filed in a timely manner, including: Federal Elections Commission, Internal Revenue Service, Idaho State Tax Commission, Idaho Secretary of State, and Idaho Industrial Commission;
- Oversee system of internal controls to prevent inappropriate or illegal use of organizations assets;
- Ensure payroll and necessary employee reports are prepared accurately and timely;
- Ensure all bills are paid in a timely manner;
- Oversee building needs and office supplies;
- Oversee sub-leasing affairs;
- Offer finance and compliance trainings for County organizations and campaigns;
- Manage NGP database updates and functionality for Finance Department use.
- Manage other administrative and financial tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.

The ideal candidates should have:
An accounting or finance background;
Bachelor's degree or higher in any field;
Adept at Quickbooks;
Expertise in NGP/VAN database;
A minimum of at least 2 years of political experience;
Experience in managing volunteers and interns;
Great written and verbal communication skills;
Good time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
Willing to work extensive hours, including nights and weekends;
Positive attitude and ability to motivate others;
Passion to make a positive impact in Idaho progressive politics;
Committed to details, efficiency, meeting goals, and using data to inform decisions;
Ability to collaborate and work effectively with candidates, regional and local leaders;
Ability to approach problem solving with creativity and;
Valid Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
