Duties of the Operations Manager include:
- Responsible for maintaining the daily schedules of the President and Executive Director. Ensure appropriate staff members are in meetings and provide briefing materials as needed.
- Coordinate with designated staff in advance of meetings to maximize the President and Executive Director's time and strategic goals.
- Manage all scheduling requests including meetings with labor leaders, progressive clients, elected officials and the press.
- Serve as the gatekeeper for the President, Executive Director and the organization.
- Act as a liaison between The Atlas Project and The Organizing Group (a partner organization) on strategic campaigns. Support new and ongoing campaigns initiated by The Organizing Group and ensure relevant staff are working together.
- Monitor press coverage about clients, issue campaigns and key legislative and political campaign developments.
- Collect data and information for key states including polling data, election results, candidate information, campaign finance data, ballot initiatives, and other research tasks as needed.
- Work with the political team to help manage The Atlas Project's online toolkit and client subscriptions.
- Manage daily operations and provide support to Atlas staff.
- Strong commitment to progressive politics and advancing issues that support working families.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to initiate programs and processes of continuing improvement while driving the organization towards excellence and efficiency.
- At least one year of professional experience, preferably in a political, issue advocacy, or campaign environment.
- Requires a high degree of judgment of relationships and ideas, initiative and drive.
