Position Announcement
Raíz Program Manager
Community Outreach Group, Planned Parenthood Federation of America

Location: Flexible

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has long been committed to increasing civic engagement in the Latino community — the nation's fastest growing demographic and one that faces many obstacles to health care access.

The Raíz program is Planned Parenthood's national effort to work with the Latino community on fights for reproductive health, sex education, and access to care. In the first year of the Raíz program, organizers worked on voter registration, Medicaid expansion, immigration reform, and passed a comprehensive sex education reform.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is seeking a Raíz Program Manager.  The Program Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing existing organizing operations as well as expansion locations, managing 1-3 organizers in each of 4 states (AZ, FL, NV, TX), and developing and implementing training and fellowship opportunities for organizers throughout the federation. This person will also work closely with a DC-based team on program implementation and planning.

This program will run through June 30, 2015, with the potential to extend. The Raíz Program Manager is a contract position through Planned Parenthood's in-house field vendor, the Community Outreach Group. The position reports to the Community Outreach Group's Managing Director, and will be assigned as a consultant to Planned Parenthood's Campaigns Director (based in DC). The Raíz Program Manager can be based anywhere in the country.

PPFA is the nation's leading sexual and reproductive health care provider and advocate. PPFA also works with partner organizations worldwide to improve the sexual health and well-being of individuals and families everywhere. PPFA has 64 independent local affiliates that operate approximately 700 health centers throughout the United States, providing high-quality services to women, men and teens. For more information about PPFA, please visit www.plannedparenthood.org. The Community Outreach Group is Planned Parenthood's in-house field vendor, and contracts with Planned Parenthood for temporary staffing needs and large-scale advocacy programs.
