JOB TITLE:      HR Director

FLSA STATUS:     Exempt

REPORTS TO: COO

SUMMARY:     The HR Director is responsible for managing all human resource programs including, but not limited to: recruiting, interviewing, on-boarding, off-boarding, employee career development, performance management, benefits, and HR policies and procedures. In addition, he/she will be responsible for implementing all programs and initiatives across multiple and separate, but related entities, connected within a larger organizational structure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develops overall strategies to establish human resource objectives that align with organizational objectives.

  • Implements and manages human resource strategies including recruiting, staffing, employment processing, compensation, benefits, training/career development, coaching, counseling, records management, employee relations and retention, performance management/compensation, and compliance.

  • Supports management by providing human resource expertise, advice, and counsel

  • Conducts regular meetings with managers and staff to assess the pulse and mood of the entities; recommends improvements as necessary

  • Leads efforts to ensure regular compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements

  • Ensures that all human resource strategies, processes, and implementations are applied across all entities in an efficient manner and coordinates the seamless integration with all organizational or department heads.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ten years or more leading an organization's human resources department

  • Very well organized; excellent written and oral communications.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues; works well in a fast-paced environment and able to multi-task without sacrificing quality of work.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Experience selecting and effectively managing outside firms/consultants.

  • Ability to foster a cooperative, team-oriented work environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other department heads and lead cross-department and cross-entity initiatives.

  • Ability to work overtime with little notice.

  • This position is based in San Francisco, CA.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like.
