Job Description: Organizer
Overview: Peace Action of Wisconsin and Peace Education Project of Peace Action Wisconsin are now hiring for the part-time position of Organizer for 20 hours per week, including most Saturdays.
Peace Action has been organizing our communities for a peaceful way of life that calls for nuclear disarmament, demands social and economic justice, and rallies around protecting the environment for 36 years. We are looking for an innovative and dynamic individual who is looking to build a career in Non-profit Organizing and Development and will work hard to increase our profile at the local and state level in communities and with Elected Officials.
This is an entry level position, and there is plenty of room for development and advancement based on performance. We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply, especially women, and people of diverse orientations, ethnic, and class backgrounds.

Reports to: Co-Directors
Salary and Benefits:
$12,480.00 annually to start for 20 hours per week, and up to $1200.00 per year health care reimbursement.
5 Paid Sick days, 8 Paid Holidays, 40 hours Paid Vacation.

Tasks:
· Implement Political Campaign(s):
o Manage all field activities including canvassing and phone banks
o Create Digital and Earned Media Communications
o Volunteer Recruitment and Development
· Volunteer and Membership Recruitment and Outreach:
o Recruit new volunteers and members through community outreach and campaign activities
o Maintain relationships with and engage existing volunteers and members through event planning and implementation and campaign activities.
· Event Planning and Implementation:
o Provide input in regards to event planning
o Conduct turn-out and promotion of events and implement day of
· Coalition and Partnership Outreach and Development:
o Form relationships with existing Coalition Partners and engage around campaign activities; schedule and facilitate Coalition Meetings as necessary
o Engage with Community, Labor, Faith-based and Electoral groups and individuals to conduct issue education and develop partnerships and allies.
· General Office and Administrative:
o Assist with day to day office tasks including but not limited to: maintaining program files, answering phones, email and written correspondence, coordination of bulk mailings, and some financial operations.
Required Qualifications:
· 2-4 year Degree or Certification or a minimum of 2 years relevant paid or volunteer experience in any of the following:
o Non-Profit Management or Administrative; Political Science; Communications; Political and or Grassroots Organizing; Field Management
· Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
· Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Online tools
· Must own vehicle and have insurance
· Must be willing and able to work one weekend day per week.
Desired Qualifications:
· Interest in or Aptitude for Foreign Policy and Social and Economic Justice Issues or Environmental Issues
· VAN experience
· Experience in Fundraising/Grant-writing and or sales
· Experience with Adobe Illustrator or other media creation software
· Field Management Experience
· Preference will be given to Women and individuals from LGBT and or minority communities.
