A municipal campaign in Quincy, MA is looking for an experienced, motivated and organized individual to join our campaign team as a Field Director. The Field Director will play a critical role overseeing field operations and as a member of the senior leadership team.
Position Summary:
The Field Director is responsible for building a volunteer network and executing the defined field strategy to win the 2015 Quincy mayoral primary and general election. This position has telecommute ability but would require frequent weekend and evening presence in the city of Quincy.
Job responsibilities include:
- Executing the field plan;
- Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, activists and interns to participate in grassroots activities such as door-to-door canvassing, phone banking and early voting to persuade and turn out voters for the September primary and November general elections;
- Coordinating with allied organizations and local community groups;
- Engaging in direct voter outreach
Job Qualifications
Candidates must have strong personal, verbal and written communication skills. Candidates should also thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing political environment. Previous campaign and/or grassroots organizing experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge of local area a plus, but not required.
Most of all, candidates must have a drive to succeed in a high stress environment and enjoy the challenge of a political campaign. The ability to work quickly and cooperatively under pressure and meet deadlines will be key in a successful candidate.
