Position Background:

Our country faces monumental challenges: the most severe economic inequality since the Great Depression, a massive flood of money corrupting our democracy, persistent racism, permanent war, a global climate crisis, and more. But our country's future is also ripe with opportunity for profound progressive change—if our movement can rise to the moment.

In our first 17 years, MoveOn's small staff and millions of members have pioneered a model of building and wielding independent progressive power through campaigns that combine mass mobilization, cutting-edge technology, and sharp strategic and political analysis. As a member-driven organization, we've changed how politics works, won remarkable victories from Capitol Hill to state legislatures and city halls around the country, and helped grow and amplify mass movements for political and cultural change. Whether stoking the movement against the war in Iraq, launching the fight for Net Neutrality, winning health care reform, or helping elect and elevate progressives like Senator Elizabeth Warren, MoveOn has repeatedly been in the thick of—and even defined—America's biggest progressive fights.

Exceptional campaigning is core to our DNA. And great campaigning requires great leadership. The Chief Campaigns Officer is a new position that will lead MoveOn's work to run the best, most effective strategic online and offline campaigns in the country, powered by 8 million members and an extraordinary staff. (Our team is brilliant, low-ego, high-output—and dedicated to our members, the work, and each other.) The CCO will bottom-line the heart of what MoveOn.org does: Create and run awesome, winning campaigns that change the course of our politics and help to fundamentally reshape our democracy.
