WomenCount, a national, non-profit political organization, is launching a new effort that will use an innovative, tech-driven approach to support progressive women candidates for federal and statewide office in the 2016 elections. Based in Palo Alto, WomenCount was founded in 2008 with the mission to increase women's political participation using online strategies.

 

Description of Position

 The project director will work directly with the executive director to develop and execute our strategic goals in support of progressive women running for office. This position will share responsibility for the day to day operations of our project, including developing and updating content, managing outreach to campaigns and political organizations, developing partnerships with other women's groups, tracking races, drafting messages for all forms of social media, and maintaining our relationships with various stakeholders.

 

General Qualifications:

 S/he must be self motivated, a great communicator, adept at social networking, politically astute, and passionate about advancing women in the political process.

 

Specific Qualifications

·      Three to five years of experience in related work, such as politics, campaigns, communications, women's advocacy, and/or non-profits.

·      Excellent strategic thinking skills; candidate will be expected to contribute to overall development and execution of strategy;

·      Political savvy and knowledge of elections; candidate will be required to understand how to evaluate political polls, fundraising trends, general political landscape, knowledge of national political organizations. Political junkies, please apply!;

·      Excellent writing and communications skills.

·      Ability to be creative, clever, fast-paced; sense of humor is a must;

·      Computer skills such as familiarity with CMS, photo editing, basic design is preferable.

·      Bachelor's degree preferred.
