The Junior Graphic Designer will work alongside the Senior Graphic Designer and the Director of Digital Media. This position will be responsible for assisting the Senior Graphic Designer with print projects, web graphics, ordering and managing inventory, uploading and managing photos on the internal photo database, and other projects as needed. Responsibilities will also include creating graphics for Alley Cat Allies' social media.
This position is required to be in-house in our Bethesda, Maryland office.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree of Art/Graphic Design preferred
- At least 2 years of related work and/or academic experience
- Knowledge of and experience with the publishing process and current printing and mailing procedures, software, and technology with demonstrated proficiency in dedicated software programs, including the Adobe Creative Suites (Primarily in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat)
- Ability to work on a PC
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities and projects
- Excellent attention to detail and follow through
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player, while recognizing the nature of a small nonprofit
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to take initiative
- Highly proficient computer skills with demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and other software programs as indicated
- Knowledge of feral cat issues a plus
- Previous non-profit, animal-centric experience a plus
- Ability to work around cats and dogs.
