We drive attention to compelling local role models in unarmed movement-building and demonstrate to journalists, community leaders, public intellectuals and students – in the US, Israel, Palestine and beyond – what is possible when leaders at the grassroots choose to act. We tell their under-documented stories through award-winning films, digital media and targeted public education campaigns that undermine stereotypes, inspire commitment and galvanize action.


Just Vision is a team of human rights advocates, journalists, and filmmakers who have a reputation for leadership, credibility and excellence. Based in Washington DC, New York and East Jerusalem, we are a small, highly motivated team that encourages individual growth and initiative.


We are seeking a full-time Operations Coordinator to be based in Washington, DC. This is a fast-paced job within a dynamic, high-performing team.


Position Summary

 

The Operations Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization; plays a key role in developing, improving and implementing administrative and development systems; and serves as the primary point of contact for operational issues for all teams (NY, DC and East Jerusalem). She/he will report to the Executive Director (based in the DC office) and will interact regularly with and support the rest of the Just Vision team, especially the Executive Director, Creative Director, Manager of Strategic Relations, Director of Communications, Public Engagement Coordinator and Finance Consultant. 

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Maintaining and improving the overall operations for all of Just Vision's offices, including phone, internet, equipment and supplies (involves occasional travel to New York)
  • Overseeing and improving our institutional systems and work flow in order to streamline and enhance our operational processes
  • Responsible for the organization's online donation system (Click & Pledge), e-commerce platform (Paypal), contact management system (Salesforce), mass email communications platform (Constant Contact and Google Mail Merge), and other development research databases, including overseeing the upkeep, functionality and the accuracy of our data as well as training staff and interns to use Salesforce
  • Communicating clearly and eloquently with the public, as this person will be responsible for answering phone calls, responding to online orders, trouble shooting film streaming services and managing Just Vision's general contact email account
  • Coordinating mailings to our supporter community
  • Hiring and supervising seasonal interns; reviewing staff, intern and volunteer applications and coordinating onboarding and transitioning process for new and departing staff
  • Maintaining meticulous donation records and gift acknowledgement processes, including depositing and tracking donations as well as preparing, mailing and tracking acknowledgement letters.
  • Coordinating logistics and materials for annual staff retreats and quarterly Board meetings
  • Assisting the Executive Director and Just Vision staff with administrative needs including: preparing documents, program materials, Salesforce and other database reports, packages and board meeting materials as well as faxing/scanning/emailing/filing documents as needed 

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in operations, events management, development or related work
  • Energy, enthusiasm and a sense of humor
  • Exceptional writing and proofreading abilities
  • Strong eye for creating and maintaining rigorous organizational systems and processes
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheet management
  • Comfort with multitasking and a fast-paced, high-performance culture
  • Fluency in English

 

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Management experience (can include supervising interns, volunteers and/or staff)
  • Experience with database processing (especially Salesforce)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including the ability to perform advanced functions like Vlookup
  • Demonstrated interest in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, international affairs, film or the Middle East
  • Arabic and Hebrew language abilities and overseas experience appreciated, but not required
