The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) is looking for a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic organizer to join our St. Louis homecare team. No union organizing experience is needed to apply. However, applicants should have a track record of working or volunteering for underdogs and overlooked causes. Applicants must also be willing to relocate to St. Louis, MO if offered a position.
Job Requirements:
Reach out and build a community of low wage worker leaders to organize their industry;
Participate in all necessary team meetings, trainings, and conference calls;
Help workers build confidence in their organizing abilities and help educate workers on their rights on the job;
Organize and coordinate regular meetings with worker leaders;
Assist with mobilizing for events and actions;
Ability and willingness to travel for extended periods of time, sometimes on short notice;
Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and an automobile for business use;
Ability and willingness to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
